Celebrating the Everyday Champions Behind Strong Families
Every day, the family support workforce, community leaders, and organizations are working to build a Massachusetts where children and families thrive. Through trusted relationships, compassionate support, and a commitment to strengthening families, they make a meaningful difference in their communities.
Much of this work happens behind the scenes. It may not always receive public recognition, but its impact is deeply felt by the children, families, and communities it supports.
This year, the Children’s Trust is proud to introduce the Unsung Hero Award, a new annual recognition presented at A View from All Sides that shines a light on the individuals and organizations whose steadfast, behind-the-scenes efforts make a lasting difference for children and families.
A View from All Sides brings together members of the family support workforce from across Massachusetts for learning, professional development, and connection. The Unsung Hero Award extends that tradition by shining a light on the people and organizations whose everyday actions embody the values at the heart of family support.
The award recognizes an individual or organization whose dedication, compassion, and behind-the-scenes efforts have made a meaningful impact on children and families. Nominated by their peers, the recipient embodies a spirit of service, demonstrating humility, reliability, and a deep commitment to strengthening support for families.
Why Recognition Matters
By honoring individuals and organizations whose efforts often happen behind the scenes, the Unsung Hero Award highlights the vital role the family support workforce plays in building a stronger, more connected network of support for families across the Commonwealth. Their stories remind us why this work matters.
Recognition is about more than celebrating a single person or organization. It is about elevating the values at the heart of family support work: compassion, connection, trust, and a commitment to helping families thrive. It also reflects the Children’s Trust’s commitment to elevating the field and recognizing the people and organizations who make this work possible.
Nominate an Unsung Hero
Do you know an individual or organization whose dedication has made a lasting impact on children, families, or their community?
We invite you to submit a nomination for the Unsung Hero Award and help us recognize the people and organizations whose contributions often happen behind the scenes but whose impact is impossible to ignore.
Nominations are open through June 26, 2026.
Together, let’s celebrate the everyday champions who strengthen families and help communities thrive.
