On Friday, April 17, the Children’s Trust partnered with Child Care of the Berkshires for their annual Step Up for Kids event. The event brought individuals together to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month and highlight prevention efforts and family support programs in Berkshire County.

On Tuesday, April 14, we hosted our annual Step Up for Kids event at the Massachusetts State House to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month. The event highlighted importance of supporting families early and often.

Celebration Day honors the incredible work of family support professionals, like home visitors, case workers, and program coordinators, and celebrates our program partners across Massachusetts who are making a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.

On Wednesday, April 16, Children’s Trust advocates, program partners, board members, and legislators gathered for our annual Step Up for Kids event at the Massachusetts State House to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month and draw attention to a critical need: investing in the family support workforce.

Fifty-six pairs of sneakers placed on the steps of City Hall signified the number of child abuse cases Berkshire County sees in one month. Child Care of the Berkshires and the Children’s Trust stressed the importance of prevention programs with this visual on Friday.

To mark the beginning of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Children’s Trust, dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect in Massachusetts, and the Office of the Child Advocate hosted a legislative briefing at the Massachusetts State House, providing an update on child sexual abuse prevention efforts across the Commonwealth.
