Celebration Day honors the incredible work of family support professionals, like home visitors, case workers, and program coordinators, and celebrates our program partners across Massachusetts who are making a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.

On Wednesday, April 16, Children’s Trust advocates, program partners, board members, and legislators gathered for our annual Step Up for Kids event at the Massachusetts State House to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month and draw attention to a critical need: investing in the family support workforce.

Fifty-six pairs of sneakers placed on the steps of City Hall signified the number of child abuse cases Berkshire County sees in one month. Child Care of the Berkshires and the Children’s Trust stressed the importance of prevention programs with this visual on Friday.

To mark the beginning of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Children’s Trust, dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect in Massachusetts, and the Office of the Child Advocate hosted a legislative briefing at the Massachusetts State House, providing an update on child sexual abuse prevention efforts across the Commonwealth.

Thank you to everyone who came together to make our 2024 A View from All Sides conference a wonderful experience. Over 800 individuals joined us in person or online, experiencing two days filled with engaging and thought-provoking presentations, meaningful connections, and a renewed energy that will power our work forward.
