On Thursday, October 15, 2020, we held the 28th Annual A View from All Sides conference virtually. With more than 500 attendees from over 200 child, youth, and family support organizations across Massachusetts tuning in to hear cutting-edge theories and promising practices from expert speakers, the event was engaging, informative, and inspiring.
Robert Brooks, PhD, Clinical Psychologist and Faculty Member of Harvard Medical School and former Director of the Department of Psychology at McLean Hospital, delivered the timely keynote address, "Overcoming Compassion Fatigue: Strategies to Lead a More Resilient, Meaningful Life." Dr. Brooks outlined strategies for promoting emotional and physical well-being so that family support professionals are better prepared and equipped to meet the demands of their work. He also discussed actions that are in one's own control to take, that not only assist in helping deal with stress but, most importantly, lead to more meaningful, resilient personal and professional lives.
