The Melrose Free Press reported on the Children's Trust's announcement of this year's Evening of Promise honoree selection of Melrose resident Yvonne Garcia.

The Children’s Trust, a nonprofit with a mission to stop child abuse in Massachusetts, recently announced it will honor Yvonne Garcia, of Melrose, at its annual fundraising event to be held Nov. 30 at the Westin Copley Place, 10 Huntington Ave., Boston.

The Children’s Trust is honoring Garcia for her achievements as a national civic leader, impactful change agent and for her dedication to supporting children and families. As co-founding chair of Milagros para Niños, an initiative at Boston Children’s Hospital which raises funds for underserved Latino children, Garcia said that every child deserves a safe and healthy childhood.
