Training description

This educational series, hosted by Massachusetts’ Initiative to Reduce Child Neglect, dives deeper into the data, builds shared understanding, and supports consistent, informed decision-making across the initiative.

This session explores how deficit-based thinking became embedded in child welfare policy and practice. Participants contrast deficit- and asset-based approaches and examine how asset-based frameworks can shift responses from reporting and surveillance toward support and prevention.
