BOSTON (June 29, 2016) – The Children’s Trust, a nonprofit with a mission to stop child abuse in Massachusetts, announced today it will honor Yvonne Garcia at its annual fundraising event to be held November 30 at the Westin Copley Place.
The Children’s Trust is honoring Ms. Garcia for her achievements as a national civic leader, impactful change agent and for her dedication to supporting children and families. As co-founding Chair of Milagros para Niños, an initiative at Boston Children’s Hospital which raises critical funds for underserved Latino children, Ms. Garcia believes that every child deserves a safe and healthy childhood.
“Yvonne Garcia has demonstrated her commitment to improving the lives of families by working to improve access to quality care opportunities for children. Through her advocacy she is building awareness and resources that strengthen families now and in the future, enabling children to grow up to be happy, healthy and successful,” said Suzin Bartley, Executive Director of the Children’s Trust.
Garcia serves as the National Chairwoman for the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA), the oldest and largest Latino Professionals Organization in the nation, in addition to being a Senior Vice President at State Street Corporation.
