The Children’s Trust is celebrating the 25th A View from All Sides conference on October 26, 2017. Over the past 24 years, more than 14,400 family support professionals have participated in our conferences. This year, we are welcoming Bruce D. Perry, M.D., Ph.D., Senior Fellow of The ChildTrauma Academy based in Houston, TX, as our keynote speaker. His keynote address, titled “The Effects of Empathy on the Developing Brain”, will include information on cutting-edge scientific studies and historical examples that explain how empathy develops, why it is essential for our development into healthy adults, and how it is threatened in the modern world.
This premier family support professional conference will offer 26 workshops with topics ranging from the trauma-informed approaches, family literacy, and post-partum depression to the epidemic of substance use. Attendees will have access to the community resource fair and opportunities to exchange ideas with colleagues. During the luncheon awards ceremony, selected family support professionals will be honored with the Frances Litman Leadership Award, Fatherhood Recognition Award, Partnership Award and Parent Recognition Award.
The Children’s Trust hopes that you will join us in celebrating this extraordinary accomplishment of continuing to partner with and educate professionals in the field of family support.
