The Children's Trust Holds First Ever Virtual Gala

share:

On Tuesday, October 20, hundreds of guests came together for our first ever virtual gala to help stop child abuse. More than $465,000 was raised as we celebrated the extraordinary work and accomplishments of our program participants, staff, and partners.

Guests heard the inspiring story of Midalia, mom to three-year-old Xadien, who talked about her parenting journey, reflecting on her own upbringing, the importance of home visits, and how the Children's Trust Healthy Families program helped her break the cycle of child abuse.

“They helped me break the cycle [of abuse] that I went through and that my family went through in their childhood.”

Justyn and Kaleigh shared their story, discussing individual and family goals, their gratitude for the support and guidance from their home visitor, and how the Children's Trust has helped them raise their son, Holden.

"So I want to be as best a dad as I can, and that's the seed [our home visitor] put in my mind. That's how I've been thinking ever since."

Special guests Governor Charlie Baker and First Lady Lauren Baker also addressed the virtual crowd, explaining why they have been, and continue to be, long-time supporters of the Children’s Trust.

Our Executive Director, Suzin Bartley, highlighted why our work to protect children and support struggling families across Massachusetts is needed now more than ever. Steven Pascal, Associate Director of Programs, described how our programs were able to quickly adapt and continue to stay connected with families to deliver crucial services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We'd like to thank all of our generous sponsors, donors, and everyone who tuned in to support our mission to end child abuse across Massachusetts.

Our work doesn't end here! With children especially vulnerable during this pandemic, your support is more important than ever.
