The Children’s Trust is excited to announce the release of Funding for New Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) Request for Responses (RFR). The EBP grants will be used to support the implementation of these groups-based programs in Massachusetts:
- Familias Unidas was developed by the University of Miami’s School of Nursing and Health Studies for adolescents ages 12-16 who identify as Hispanic/Latinx and their families to prevent substance use and risky sexual behavior.
- Strong African American Families (SAAF) was developed by the University of Georgia’s Center for Family Research for youth ages 10-14 who identify as African American/Black and their families to prevent substance abuse and other risky behaviors.
This grant program explores needed capacity building for the delivery of EBPs and recipients of EBP grants will help inform understanding of strategies for bringing more EBPs into Massachusetts. The anticipated number of EBP grantee awards is 10, with each EBP grantee eligible for $100,000, which will be distributed in four installments of $25,000. To be considered for review, applications must be received by September 27, 2024 and must be complete.
