stepping up to stop child abuse

share:

Every child deserves a safe and healthy childhood. Too often, that’s not the case. In fact, one in 34 children was confirmed as abused or neglected last year in Massachusetts.

The good news is that ending child abuse is possible. Please join us at the State House to learn about our progress toward that goal as we kick off April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

This year’s “Step Up for Kids” event will honor Senator Linda Dorcena Forry and Representative Patricia Haddad for their long-term commitment to children and families. A display of over 700 shoes will represent the average number of confirmed cases of children abused or neglected in Massachusetts every week.

Thank you to the Two Ten Foundation, in association with their footwear partners BCNY International, Clarks Americas, Crocs, Khombu, New Balance, Shoebuy.com, and Wolverine, for donating the children’s shoes which will be distributed to families in the Children’s Trust’s programs.
