November 21 is National Adoption Day, a day to "raise awareness of the more than 100,000 children in foster care waiting to find permanent, loving families." There are more than 7,000 children living in foster care in Massachusetts, and the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange is using the day to help find safe, nurturing permanent families for every child in Massachusetts foster care who cannot be reunited with his/her birth family.
As part of National Adoption Day, Massachusetts courts legalized the adoptions of 129 children and youth on November 20 across the Commonwealth.
The Children's Trust and One Tough Job would like to remind everyone that being a parent is all about providing loving care and nurturing... not about DNA.
Happy National Adoption Day!
