In Honor of the Great Marting Luther King, Jr.

It has been 89 years since Martin Luther King, Jr. was delivered into this world, and nearly 50 years since he was taken away. Yet his dream continues to inspire action to bring about the “radical revolution of values” that our nation so desperately needs.

We have the same the dream, to “shift from a thing-oriented society to a person-oriented society.” King’s call for “a worldwide fellowship that lifts neighborly concern beyond one’s tribe, race, class, and nation” could not be more relevant in this new year, in this moment of dark division and hatred.

Let us follow King’s path and keep to higher ground. Let us not succumb to hatred or despair, and instead, choose love. For, as he put it, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
