Even though stories of loving parents playing a nurturing role in their children’s lives rarely make headlines, they are the quiet backdrop to more sensational stories of tragedy and violence that seem to dominate the news. Images of loving and nurturing dads are even harder to come by, despite countless everyday examples of humble heroism.

This Father’s Day, we are celebrating those everyday heroes who are simply trying to be the best dads they can be.
