together, we can stop child abuse in massachusetts
consider a donation to the children's trust on #givingtuesday
There’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but have you heard about #GivingTuesday?
#GivingTuesday is a day of giving back. On Tuesday, December 3, 2013, people and organizations across the country will come together, share their stories of giving, and be part of a national celebration of our great tradition of generosity.
The Children’s Trust is among nonprofits nationwide that have joined the second annual #GivingTuesday campaign by launching an organizational campaign to encourage our supporters to donate and share their story of support online. A highlight this year is the personal fundraising campaign being conducted by a young mom who wants to say thanks for the services and support she received from Healthy Families, a Children’s Trust program.
Jessica was young and pregnant when she joined Healthy Families. With support from the program, she graduated from high school and was admitted to the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Despite the challenges of being a teen mom, Jessica graduated magna cum laude from UMass and is now enrolled in graduate studies and works at a woman’s center there. She thanks Healthy Families for her success.
“My experience in Healthy Families was so meaningful that I want to give back and contribute to the program’s success because it helped me to succeed,” says Jessica.
In recognition of the Children’s Trust’s 25th anniversary, Jessica has set of goal of raising $2,500 through her #GivingTuesday fundraising efforts.
