Family Support Program Manager

The Family Support Program Manager is responsible for the management oversight of the Children’s Trust Family Support program staff.  The incumbent is accountable for the performance of the family support team, ensuring quality services are being delivered according to standard protocols, quality assurance and productivity measures. The position requires the ability to effectively lead staff in all areas of program compliance, addressing all performance issues in a timely manner so as to not compromise access to program services.  This position reports to the Deputy Director of Programs and supervises the Family Support Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides management oversight, technical assistance and support to Children’s Trust Family Support program staff
  • Works closely with other senior-level management to develop and implement the SAFE Child Communities initiative
  • Oversees the development and implementation of Parent Partnership and Leadership activities
  • Oversees the management of all Family Support program activities, including the integration of protective factors in all programs
  • Working closely with other senior-level management, provides overall management of the agency including budget development, participation in strategic planning process, and sets policies and procedures affecting the Program Unit and the agency as a whole

Duties:

  • Oversee the Family Support program contracts, RFR processes and budget
  • Plays a major role in developing and implementing the SAFE Child Communities intitiative
  • Evaluates staff, develops professional development activities and improvement plans, and provides recommendations for disciplinary action when warranted
  • Ensures that lead agencies fulfill/implement program contracts in a thorough, intended manner
  • Offers lead agencies proper and necessary technical assistance, support, corrective action if needed
  • Works with and provides support to approximately 30 community family service agencies across Massachusetts on a regular basis

Preferred Qualifications at Hire:

  • Advanced Degree preferred – disciplines in Social Work, Education, Child Development, Early Childhood
  • At least 4 years’ experience working in Family Support, Child Development, Early Childhood or Social Work field
  • At least 4 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of and dedication to Family Support practice;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill of working with men/fathers specific to their parenting/caregiving roles;
  • Knowledge and experience in conducting/coordinating evaluation activities of programs that serve families;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • Willingness and ability (valid MA driver’s license) to travel across state;
  • Flexible to meet changing demands and ability to respond changing priorities quickly;
  • Ability to work in fact paced office environment
  • Ability to work in Senior Staff Team and Organizational Team environment
